Aisling Cliodhnadh O'Sullivan (born 16 March 1984) is better known by her stage name Aisling Bea is an Irish actor, writer and comedian. Bea was first seen as part of the cast in Irish or British television programs in 2009, began her career as a stand-up comedian in 2011. From 2012 on, Bea was appearing on sketch comedy shows or sitcoms. Following her win during the Edinburgh Comedy Awards she began being booked frequently for various panel shows where she has become a fixture. The father of Bea was Brian was a veterinarian for horses who committed suicide when she was just three years old. She did not learn the cause of death until she was 13 years old. In 2017, she wrote an essay for The Guardian about the suicide of her father's family. She also adopted her stage name Bea to pay tribute. Bea as well as her older sister Sinead and her sister Sinead, were brought up by Helen Moloney (n e Moloney), a former jockey as well as a teacher at a secondary school. Their family was in love with racing and horses. Bea started out her career as a tour guide at the Irish National Stud. However Bea realized at an early age that the racing industry wasn't for her.
